You may be emotionally shaky today, but there is an underlying stability that will help you get your work done. The Sun in Virgo trines Pluto in Capricorn. There is an earth sign practicality about the day despite fluctuating emotions. While the Moon passes Saturn and Mars in Scorpio, think about your characters and their unusual habit patterns. Get to know their eccentricities, and why they act in strange ways sometimes. Get to the heart of their idiosyncracies. What’s the underlying emotional stimulus? Get to know your characters inside and out. You may even be able to write it all down today, too.
Quincunxes between the slower planets, Jupiter, Pluto, Uranus and Saturn have been making us face certain writing tensions. You can only give your characters wild, original, unusual new actions they can take or directions they can go (Uranus in Aries), by focusing on their deep emotional motivations (Saturn in Scorpio) . You can only transform old, tired, traditional outlining systems or plotting systems (Pluto in Capricorn), by using big, expansive, entertaining, fun, dramatic new ways (Jupiter in Leo). Today, the Moon moves into intense, deep Scorpio and conjuncts nurturing, healthy Ceres, activating a Neptune/Sun opposition. This shows us a way to tease out those hidden, nebulous, fleeting, nighttime, dreams, and bring them into the bright light of day.
Today is the day for journalists to shine. The spotlight is on current events writing. Write articles or news, or blog about present occurrences in entertainment, politics, the economy, international relations or other social issues. With Moon conjunct the North Node, you will tap into the current zeitgeist. In fiction, have one of your characters comment about the way their society is heading. Harmonious Venus in Leo sextiles the Moon in Libra. Recent tensions release early this morning and the whole day is free for writing. The square to Mars gives just enough opposition to give the writing some spark.
The Moon in Libra sextiles Jupiter in Leo today. Do some free writing, unconstrained by your plot outline. Dramatic scenes, especially romantic scenes can be well written today. Let your characters take the lead. Don’t constrain them to behave the way the plot dictates. Let your characters surprise you. They may start out being romantic and end in an argument, or vice versa. Jupiter quincunx Pluto gives tension between plot and dramatic freedom. Let freedom win until the end of September. At that time, you can whip the plot back into shape.
Write about women today. Women from the past, women in conversation, or women working together. Listen to what women are saying today, and write it down. You’re tying up loose ends this morning. Information comes in, and you have to deal with it right away. It interferes with the writing you meant to do, but it can’t be ignored. Later, the Moon moves into sociable Libra. This evening has the potential for deep communication.
Early in the morning, your mind is set free of upsets and worries from the past. You may still feel slightly anxious, but you can write your thoughts down easily. After supper, the Moon joins Mercury, and your emotions are freed up as well. This gives you the ability to write anything you want to write, and do it well. Why not tackle those problem scenes that didn’t work out before? They just might write themselves tonight!
There’s a New Moon in Virgo this morning. It’s time to tidy up and get organized. It’s a confusing time as you juggle other people’s needs and wants. You may not even get to do any writing until after supper. By later this evening, things are easing up. You get great ideas for streamlining your working system tonight. It’s been a week of having your foot on the gas and the brake at the same time. Just ride it out and stay calm. It gets easier tomorrow.
There’s serious conflict today between staying with the tried and true, or breaking away in a whole new direction. Most of the day will be spent in a pendulum swing between the past and a possible future direction. The new direction looks good, but you’re somehow stuck in with the past. How frustrating! The best use of this energy is to write a scene where your character is undecided, and frustrated about being undecided! Make them take a step in one direction, then change their mind and backtrack. Then do it all over again, back and forth, up and down, never getting anywhere. The drama is in the tension of opposites. Write that today.
