The Moon moved into Sagittarius last night. We’re much more able to see the big picture. By mid-afternoon, Venus moves into Libra and we have the potential of writing with great beauty. Finally, after weeks of struggle, a Mars/Uranus trine allows us to communicate those strange new ideas. Things that seemed wacky and wild before, are now seen as profound. This is where our novel truly becomes “novel”, as in “new”, original. If we have been paying attention to the intuitions and thinking about them deeply, now they can flower into consciousness.

We’ve been trying to write those unique new ideas down for weeks, but we’ve been forced into looking at deeper issues first. How do we balance the inner and the outer, the dream with the reality? How do we communicate intuitions that are still only misty formations in our own minds? Today, you can transform your writing by looking at small, mundane things in a deeper way. Look for symbolism in the details. How does that vase sitting on the table symbolize the couple’s relationship? What does it mean if the vase breaks? Or is saved from breaking by one of the partners? Think deeper today.

The Moon trines Chiron and sextiles Pluto this morning. We are able to take inspiration, and convert it into form. Later, as the Moon approaches a conjunction with Saturn and Ceres, the writing gets more serious. By late afternoon, you are writing about deep emotions and healing. The flow of new ideas may still be there, but we are being asked to go deeper into the material. What are your characters’ inner motivations? What is holding them back? How can they heal? Even if you write comedy, the work is better with a hint of dark truth.

Hard science fiction or real life adventure writers will love the trine between Jupiter in Leo and Uranus in Aries. Fantasy writers may have a harder time with their imagination, though, because of a Sun/Neptune quincunx. The Moon moves into Scorpio by mid-morning and trines Neptune. Now the imagination lights up, but the words are harder to find. Spend the rest of the day with a notepad, taking down raw ideas and dreams.

You will be focused on dreams this morning that may or may not add value to your writing. By midday, you find a new sense of purpose. What you thought was interfering with your writing, now seems to stimulate it. New ideas emerge for scenes, characters and methods of editing that can take your work to new places. Pluto has been creeping forward over the last few days, tugging us along, urging us to create new forms. It’s only this afternoon that we really feel that pull, lifting our writing to whole new levels.
