You really want to get writing this morning but you’re not sure which way to go. You could write that outline, but there’s that really fun scene you want to tackle as well. You’ll be torn between work and pleasure today. Work will probably win because it has the stronger aspects. But that fun is out there, tempting you like a big clown on a merry-go-round, beckoning for you to jump on. If there is any way to make your work fun, go there! Today you can confirm that your writing is both your work and your pleasure. The two go hand in hand.

The day starts out with a Moon/Neptune conjunction in Pisces. Belief systems are highlighted today. Anyone writing critically about religious institutions will be in their element. There’s a push to eliminate the fog around these institutions to look at them and see them for what they are, warts and all. Comedy writers could get in on the act today, too, writing satire or skewering sacred cows. Tonight, we see the big picture and where we may have been fooling ourselves with belief systems that don’t stand up to scrutiny in the light of day. Write about that.

You’ll be dealing with other work issues instead of writing this morning. It’s a good day for dealing with contracts or social media marketing or foreign publishers. You could also get some computer maintenance done or get your backup system in order. It’s a day of practicalities with a vision toward making your work routine smoother in the future. As the Moon goes into Pisces tonight and conjuncts Neptune, you’ll probably just want to take it easy and read or watch a movie. But in alliance with today’s practical work motif, while you’re watching that movie, see if you can identify the plot structure in that screenplay.

This morning there’s a real feeling of moving forward with our writing. The structure we’ve been working on has given us the freedom to play around within it, without getting lost in chaos. This morning, we sense change in the air, good change that smells like freedom. We’ve done so much of the grunt work in our writing, the research, the outlining, the plotting and the planning. As the Moon conjoins Pluto in Capricorn, we can completely transmute our writing project into something brand new and original. If we have been constraining our writing to what we think is socially acceptable, we could break out of that mold now and say what’s really on our mind. Yes, it will feel uncomfortable, but write it anyway. You don’t have to make it public if you don’t want to. Uranus trine Venus adds spice to romance novels. Science fiction writers will find some great new characters, maybe even a new type of alien life form! And religious writers will get a new appreciation for the individual as an expression of the divine.

At breakfast time, inspire yourself with uplifting thoughts. The dark cloud that has been hanging over us lately can be lifted. What previously seemed like a utopian dream now looks practical and do-able. The problem lies in putting it all into words. Mercury conjunct Saturn in Scorpio over the next few days will make writing seem like wading through peanut butter, not an easy slog. The ideas? No problem. The vision? Easy as pie. But the words? Not so much. The benefit of all this is that you will have time to ponder about what you want to say, and how you want to say it. You’ll write it much better in a day or two than you would if you tried to rush ahead now. The next few days are for note taking, outlining and deep thinking.
