OCTOBER 17 ~ Writing With The Stars ~ daily astrology for writers

moonclouds_smallAs the Moon approaches its conjunction with Jupiter in Leo, you will be eager to try out your new ideas. It won’t be until after lunch that you are able to see where they fit within the overall writing project. Then it’s as if a firehose opens up and blasts you with exciting new scenes, too many to capture all at once. Just keep writing and don’t worry about the exact words. Grab those big ideas that are pouring out before they drain away. Quickly! Go! Write! Now!

OCTOBER 16 ~ Writing With The Stars ~ daily astrology for writers

moonclouds_smallAs the Moon enters Leo we feel a dramatic surge of confidence. Wonderful aspects to the Libra stellium allow us to communicate gregariously with everyone. Enjoy being the life of the party! Write about funny, optimistic, over-the-top characters today. Write about the comedian, the guru or the benevolent emperor king. The bigger, the better, is the order of the day. But write about people, not events –big, happy, overblown people with huge egos and brilliant personalities.

OCTOBER 15 ~ Writing With The Stars ~ daily astrology for writers

moonclouds_smallYou would like to just start writing, but the Moon trine Saturn wants you to look at the underlying emotional structure of your work. Sure, you can write that action scene or that argument scene, but does it make sense emotionally? What are your characters’ underlying motivations? Even the bad guy thinks he is doing the right thing in some twisted way. Find out what impels your characters into taking action. Ask WHY today.

OCTOBER 14 ~ Writing With The Stars ~ daily astrology for writers

moonclouds_smallThere is some potent dramatic tension between assertive individual expression and collective harmony. Make sure your action scenes are not just gratuitous violence, but have a deeper message. Add to this a tension between transforming old structures and staying with what feels nurturing and safe. The old argument between Pantsers and Plotters could now be solved by compromise. Don’t try to choose between either side. What needs to be done is to use the best of both to create a new and better system.

OCTOBER 13 ~ Writing With The Stars ~ daily astrology for writers

moonclouds_smallMercury quintile Pluto is wanting us to go back over old material. Restrictions from the past need resolving. The way out is through shining a light on relationships. We have to update old ideas in striking new ways. This is not saying to throw out the old, but to renew it. By evening, the issues become very clear. We know which way to go and how to get there. It has something to do with active expansion while continuing to care about home. It has to do with finding individuality while maintaining connection.

OCTOBER 12 ~ Writing With The Stars ~ daily astrology for writers

moonclouds_smallWith the Moon in communicative Gemini, writing gets easier as the day progresses. A square between Uranus in Aries and Sun/Venus in Libra seems to add tension to any new actions we take. However, if we stay with optimism, humor, adventure and an expanded philosophy, we see a way out of that tension. With Mercury retrograde in Libra, great writing can be done about optimistic new social systems that involve generosity and equality. Humor writers have a good day writing about fun differences between the old and the new.

OCTOBER 11 ~ Writing With The Stars ~ daily astrology for writers

moonclouds_smallWith retrograde Mercury back in Libra, we can easily go over old material and do some editing. Especially after lunch, as the Moon moves into communicative Gemini, we can get some real writing done. Harmonious aspects to Jupiter in dramatic Leo and Mars in expansive Sagittarius give us the big perspective on our novel or other large projects. We’re on day 3 of a 5 day period when we can really get a grip on structuring our working schedule to be more productive and efficient. Any work done on plotting or outlining will go well now too.
